Two new central incisors

Patient wanted to change her two front crowns that were more than 20 years old because the color is darker than the adjacent ones. We made two new crowns with lighter colors and also made them thinner so the teeth don’t appear as protruded. The result was amazing and patient was thrilled. It changed her entire look.

Bright Smile

New smile with new front teeth

Patient did not like the gap in the front teeth. Both had trauma and root canal treatments done and they would not be moved due to ankylosis. We chose to do two crowns and patient could not be happier with the result !

New Smile

Patient came to us with an referral from another dental office where Dr. Lee previously worked at for 7 years. She wanted extractions and dentures. However, we kept all of her teeth and she had two more new teeth with implants done. A half year later, she had her works finished and it totally changed the way she smiles. Maintaining Proper Oral Hygiene

While there are a lot of advancement in dentistry in recent years, the one thing hasn’t been changed much. It’s the way to take care of your oral health.

Rule #1 : Brush twice a day for 2 minutes. – You may have 1 tooth or you may have 32 teeth. Regardless of how many teeth you have, 2 minute is important because plaque need to be dissolved in toothpaste to be washed away with toothbrush.

Rule #2 : Floss – If you have manual dexterity, then using regular floss is recommended instead of using a floss in U- plastic holder.

I still cant’ get plaque out

If you have recession of gum and bone and am constantly having food trap/debris between teeth, try Soft-pick from G.U.M. I have a lot of patients with success stories. Water pick is another useful tool to battle constant food trap on receded bone.

Which toothpaste is good ?

Patients often ask which toothpaste is good. I don’t recommend one product over another unless you have very high caries risk. Then, I may prescribe prescription based fluoride toothpaste. Colgate pulled their colgate total toothpaste from the market a few years ago, which contained triclosan because it was reported to have caused irrigation in bowel. Now Colgate Total and Crest Pro health have the same ingredients (stanneous fluoride) and they are not much different from another.

Is whitening toothpaste good ?

Some toothpaste are labeled whitening toothpaste. I want you to use it with cautions. If you are a heavy coffee drinker, while it may help you remove stain easier, more abrasiveness can damage your enamel if overused.

How to properly floss

Flossing is a key to maintaining good long term gum health. It is very easy to do but there is a learning curve at the beginning. I have compiled two very useful videos that can demonstrate how to floss properly.

Watch how she is holding a floss. The length of floss should be about a foot and longer and hold it about a inch wide with your finger.

Note that the floss not only clean space between teeth but also inside gum space. Only up and down motion is recommended. Flossing left and right especially in back teeth can damage your teeth permanently and it is difficult to treat such damage.

Guided Implant Surgery

Implant placements can be done with or without an implant guide. In most of implant cases, 3D imaging is done to evaluate available bone volume and surrounding anatomical structures. When planned implant position is surrounded by enough bone and is in very safe zone, implant can be done without a surgical guide. However, when patient is receiving multiple implants and accuracy is critical, surgical guide can be fabricated from 3D radiographic imaging and clinical model/scan. Surgical guide helps to place implants more accurately in planned position in shorter surgery time.
